Rastafari Herbal Gardens,in the hills of Westmoreland parish, about 30 minutes from Montego Bay provides simple, basic, rustic bed and breakfast accommodations on a farm in a near jungle setting. With scores of exotic fruit trees, a river, and a beautiful cave system, it is a place to experience the wonders of nature far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. You will unwind in comfortable rooms and wake up to panoramic views of lush gardens, filled with a refreshing serenity that nourishes the soul. With solar panels and harvested rainwater, the accommodations are simple and clean but rustic with a feeling of outdoor living. There is a shared outdoor toilet and shower.

The property, owned by a Rastafarian of Swiss origin invites guests on a journey that embraces the values of the Rastafari lifestyle. Among other things, it embraces a vegan lifestyle in alignment with Rastafarianism’s principles by way of plant-based meals that are available according to each guest’s dietary preferences.

Ital meals only

Traditional Rastafarian ital meals and snacks (seasonal fruits) are available for about 25$US a day. Known as “the divine dish,” ital food is prepared without salt and using only plant-based ingredients. All cooking is on a wood fire and about 80% of the food served is grown on the property. Guests can look forward to a symphony of flavors with access to a diverse selection of exotic tropical like ackee, starfruit, soursop, and jackfruit.
