Noel Coward’s Jamaica escape

Blue Harbour was the Jamaica playground of renowned playwright, Noel Coward and where he hosted many famous artists, celebrities, socialites, and dignitaries. The seven-acre property, about 12 miles from the resort town of Ocho Rios and roughly equidistant from both of Jamaica’s international airports, is known for some of the most hospitable service you can find anywhere. It is nothing like a hotel and more like a home away from home. A place to relax, restore, swim on a private beach, and explore the true Jamaica.

3 open, airy cottages

The estate has three open, airy cottages, with views of the sea, and the Blue Mountains plus a friendly staff and dining that exists in a few places on earth. It can accommodate groups up to 14 comfortably with privacy with amenities that include a saltwater pool with water pumped directly from the sea.

Villa Chica

More secluded it is a large studio apartment with two double beds, walk in closet, full bathroom, and a large veranda. Caribbean windows open to the veranda with its hammock and lounging chairs offering a full view of the coast and the Blue Mountains. Villa Chica is furnished in a vintage art deco style and was a favorite of actresses Marlene Dietrich, Katharine Hepburn and Patricia Neal and is a perfect romantic getaway.

Villa Grande

The main house where most of the activity occurs is a two-story grand structure. It has a large veranda that offers scenic outdoor dining and lounging and an indoor dining/lounging area and houses the kitchen, bathroom, dining area, living room and pantry. The top level consists of 2 bedrooms include some of Noel Coward’s original furnishings. The front room has an original sleigh bed with an additional double bed and a walk-in closet. The back bedroom is somewhat smaller than the front and includes his original four-poster pineapple bed along with another double bed.

Villa Rosa

A large family style villa with three bedrooms, a large full bathroom, and an adjoining outside bamboo bathhouse. Two of the bedrooms are extra-large with three beds in each and the back one has a small adjoining bedroom with two single beds. They share a full bath and a large veranda with a hammock and lounging chairs and a sweeping view of the sea. Villa Rose is situated close to the pool and the beach.

A ganja friendly property

Blue Harbour is a ganja friendly property and will facilitate a visit to a herb house in Montego Bay right after airport pickup. Transportation can also be arranged to the Cannim herb house a short distance from the estate.
