BlueMountView is a small, naturalistic, family run, guesthouse on a 5-acre coffee farm high up in the cool, clean air of Jamaica’s Blue Mountains, about 50 minutes from the bustling streets of Kingston. It is a peaceful, tranquil place offering, among other things, amazing mountain views, and delicious coffee. With the intention of forcing guests to interact with the beautiful natural surroundings and each other, the guesthouse proudly describes itself as a “television free” zone.

Activities focused on the natural surroundings

The guesthouse’s amenities include a river, river pool, hiking trails, outdoor gym, reading room, games room and sun deck. There is also a gazebo; open spaces for games, yoga, exercise or to just sit, chill and listen to the river; as well as area with a pool table and dart board. Guests are strongly encouraged participate in outdoor activities that showcase the beauty of the mountains, the river, waterfalls, and the area’s many exotic birds and butterflies.

Rooms with private gardens

Accommodations are available in 5 rooms varying in size and amenities, each with its own private garden and variously furnished with double, single, queen, and bunk beds. breakfast and dinner are served in the dining and chill-out area with beautiful mountain views. This area is a great place to relax, read, play dominoes, or interact with other guests.

Good eats nearby

Guests can prepare their own meals in a communal kitchen, but reasonably priced meals can be ordered for delivery from a chef who posts his menus at the guesthouse. Guests are encouraged to patronize the local area shops for snacks, alcohol, ganja and other consumables. They can, of course, also bring their own. Local area dine out options include EITS café, Coy’s Restaurant, Blue Brews Café, and Vera’s Gourmet.
